तान्येव देहिदेहेषु जीवा जीवन्ति जीविषु ।

37. Those very individual souls (jīva) dwell within the bodies of embodied beings, living among all other living creatures. Becoming the mind, they act and strive, for their actions (karma) are the cause of their subsequent births.
