He saw (Agastya's physical body from the previous verse) covered with grass and stones (tṛṇopala-paricchannam) and devoid of consciousness (gatasaṃvidam). The Sun-god (bhānuḥ), who was in the middle of the sky (gaganamadhyagaḥ), having understood the sage's (ṛṣeḥ) intention (cikīrṣitam)... (the sentence continues).
