अज्ञानमुच्यते पापं तद्विचारेण नश्यति ।
पापमूलच्छिदं तस्माद्विचारं न परित्यजेत् ॥ ८ ॥

Ignorance (ajñāna) is called sin (pāpa). That (sin) is destroyed by contemplation. Therefore, one should not abandon contemplation, as it severs the very root of sin (pāpa).
