अथ विद्रुतदैत्येन्द्रं दग्धान्तःपुरमण्डलम् ।
बभूव पातालतलं कल्पक्षुण्णजगत्समम् ॥ २३ ॥

23. Then, the nether world (pātālatala), with its demon lords having fled and its inner palace realm burned, became equivalent to a world shattered at the end of a cosmic cycle (kalpa).
