वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-12, verse-17

बाढमित्येव तं राम दशग्रीवो ऽभ्यभाषत ।
प्रज्वाल्य तत्र चैवाग्निमकरोत् पाणिसंग्रहम् ॥१७॥
17. bāḍhamityeva taṃ rāma daśagrīvo'bhyabhāṣata ,
prajvālya tatra caivāgnimakarot pāṇisaṃgraham.

prajvālya tatra ca eva agnim akarot pāṇisaṃgraham
17. rāma bāḍham iti eva daśagrīvaḥ tam abhyabhāṣata

17. Saying, 'So be it!', O Rāma, Daśagrīva then spoke to him. Having kindled a fire there, he performed the ritual of 'taking the hand' (marriage).
