वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-21, verse-3

न रामं गणये वीर्यान्मानुषं क्षीणजीवितम् ।
आत्मा दुश्चरितैः प्राणान् हतो यो ऽद्य विमोक्ष्यति ॥३॥
3. na rāmaṃ gaṇaye vīryānmānuṣaṃ kṣīṇajīvitam ,
ātmā duścaritaiḥ prāṇān hato yo'dya vimokṣyati.

ātmā duścaritaiḥ prāṇān hataḥ yaḥ adya vimokṣyati

3. I do not consider Rama, a human with diminished life, to be powerful. He whose soul (ātman), afflicted by misdeeds, will abandon his life today.
