वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-15, verse-24

सो ऽन्तःपुरं प्रविश्यैव कौसल्यामिदमब्रवीत् ।
पायसं प्रतिगृह्णीष्व पुत्रीयं त्विदमात्मनः ॥२४॥
24. so'ntaḥpuraṃ praviśyaiva kausalyāmidamabravīt ,
pāyasaṃ pratigṛhṇīṣva putrīyaṃ tvidamātmanaḥ.
24. saḥ antaḥpuram praviśya eva kausalyām idam abravīt
pāyasam pratigṛhṇīṣva putrīyam tu idam ātmanaḥ
24. Having just entered the inner apartment, he said this to Kauśalyā: "Accept this milk-rice pudding (pāyasa), which is for the sake of obtaining a son, for yourself."
