मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-84, verse-1

ऋषिरुवाच ।
ततः सुरगणाः सर्वे देव्या इन्द्रपुरोगमाः ।
स्तुतिमारेभिरे कर्तुं निहते महिषासुरे ॥१॥
1. ṛṣiruvāca .
tataḥ suragaṇāḥ sarve devyā indrapurogamāḥ .
stutimārebhire kartuṃ nihate mahiṣāsure.

tataḥ suragaṇāḥ sarve devyāḥ indrapurogamāḥ .
stutim ārebhire kartum nihate mahiṣāsure
1. The sage said: Then, all the hosts of gods, with Indra at their head, began to offer praise to the Goddess after Mahiṣāsura had been slain.
