महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-58, verse-16

विध्वस्तोऽयं हतामात्यो हतभ्राता हतप्रजः ।
उत्सन्नपिण्डो भ्राता च नैतन्न्याय्यं कृतं त्वया ॥१६॥
16. vidhvasto'yaṁ hatāmātyo hatabhrātā hataprajaḥ ,
utsannapiṇḍo bhrātā ca naitannyāyyaṁ kṛtaṁ tvayā.
16. vidhvastaḥ ayam hata-āmātyaḥ hata-bhrātā hata-prajaḥ
utsanna-piṇḍaḥ bhrātā ca na etat nyāyyam kṛtam tvayā

16. This brother, whose ministers are slain, whose brothers are slain, whose subjects are slain, and for whom funeral cakes (piṇḍa) can no longer be offered, is utterly destroyed. This act done by you is not proper.
