महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-127, verse-24

तैरल्पैर्बहवो यूयं क्षयं नीताः प्रहारिणः ।
शङ्के दैवस्य तत्कर्म पौरुषं येन नाशितम् ॥२४॥
24. tairalpairbahavo yūyaṁ kṣayaṁ nītāḥ prahāriṇaḥ ,
śaṅke daivasya tatkarma pauruṣaṁ yena nāśitam.

śaṅke daivasya tat karma pauruṣam yena nāśitam

24. You, though many powerful warriors, were brought to destruction by those few. I suspect that this was the action of destiny (daiva), by which human effort (pauruṣa) was annihilated.
