महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-127, verse-16

दैवोपसृष्टः पुरुषो यत्कर्म कुरुते क्वचित् ।
कृतं कृतं स्म तत्तस्य दैवेन विनिहन्यते ॥१६॥
16. daivopasṛṣṭaḥ puruṣo yatkarma kurute kvacit ,
kṛtaṁ kṛtaṁ sma tattasya daivena vinihanyate.

kṛtam kṛtam sma tat tasya daivena vinihanyate
16. daivopasṛṣṭaḥ puruṣaḥ kvacit yat karma kurute,
tasya tat kṛtam kṛtam [karma] daivena eva vinihanyate sma
16. Whatever action (karma) a person (puruṣa), afflicted by destiny (daiva), performs anywhere, each and every deed of his that is done is destroyed by destiny (daiva).
