महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-127, verse-14

ततो नो युध्यमानानां परं शक्त्या सुयोधन ।
सैन्धवो निहतो राजन्दैवमत्र परं स्मृतम् ॥१४॥
14. tato no yudhyamānānāṁ paraṁ śaktyā suyodhana ,
saindhavo nihato rājandaivamatra paraṁ smṛtam.
14. tataḥ naḥ yudhyamānānām param śaktyā suyodhana
saindhavaḥ nihataḥ rājan daivam atra param smṛtam
14. suyodhana rājan tataḥ naḥ śaktyā param yudhyamānānām
api saindhavaḥ nihataḥ [ataḥ] atra daivam param smṛtam
14. Therefore, O Suyodhana, for us who were fighting with utmost strength (śakti), Jayadratha (saindhava) was killed, O King. Here, destiny (daiva) is indeed considered supreme.
