महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-127, verse-19

राजनीतिं व्यपाश्रित्य प्रहिताश्चैव काननम् ।
यत्नेन च कृतं यत्ते दैवेन विनिपातितम् ॥१९॥
19. rājanītiṁ vyapāśritya prahitāścaiva kānanam ,
yatnena ca kṛtaṁ yatte daivena vinipātitam.

yatnena ca kṛtam yat te daīvena vinipātitam

19. Having resorted to political strategies (rājaneeti), you were indeed sent to the forest. And whatever was accomplished by your effort was then thwarted by destiny.
