महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-13, verse-18

संविभज्य च भूतेषु विसृज्य च सुरेश्वरः ।
विज्वरः पूतपाप्मा च वासवोऽभवदात्मवान् ॥१८॥
18. saṁvibhajya ca bhūteṣu visṛjya ca sureśvaraḥ ,
vijvaraḥ pūtapāpmā ca vāsavo'bhavadātmavān.

vijvaraḥ pūtapāpmā ca vāsavaḥ abhavat ātmavān
18. And having thoroughly distributed (the sin) among all beings and having cast it off, the lord of the gods (Indra) — Vāsava — became free from distress, purified of sin, and self-possessed (ātman).
