महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-13, verse-11

त्वद्वीर्यान्निहते वृत्रे वासवो ब्रह्महत्यया ।
वृतः सुरगणश्रेष्ठ मोक्षं तस्य विनिर्दिश ॥११॥
11. tvadvīryānnihate vṛtre vāsavo brahmahatyayā ,
vṛtaḥ suragaṇaśreṣṭha mokṣaṁ tasya vinirdiśa.
11. tvat-vīryāt nihate vṛtre vāsavaḥ brahma-hatyayā
vṛtaḥ sura-gaṇa-śreṣṭha mokṣam tasya vinirdiśa
11. Due to your valor, Vṛtra was slain. Indra (Vāsava) has become afflicted by the sin of killing a brahmin (brahmahatyā). O best among the hosts of gods, please declare the means of his liberation (mokṣa).
