वैशंपायन उवाच ।
उक्तं भगवता वाक्यमुक्तं भीष्मेण यत्क्षमम् ।
उक्तं बहुविधं चैव नारदेनापि तच्छृणु ॥४॥

4. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
uktaṁ bhagavatā vākyamuktaṁ bhīṣmeṇa yatkṣamam ,
uktaṁ bahuvidhaṁ caiva nāradenāpi tacchṛṇu.

Vaiśampāyana said: You have heard the words spoken by the revered Lord (bhagavat), and what Bhīṣma spoke that was appropriate (kṣamam). Now, listen to that which Nārada also spoke in many ways.
