महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-234, verse-21

तस्याभिपततस्तूर्णं गदाहस्तस्य संयुगे ।
गदां सर्वायसीं पार्थः शरैश्चिच्छेद सप्तधा ॥२१॥
21. tasyābhipatatastūrṇaṁ gadāhastasya saṁyuge ,
gadāṁ sarvāyasīṁ pārthaḥ śaraiściccheda saptadhā.

gadām sarvāyasīm pārthaḥ śaraiḥ ciccheda saptadhā
21. As he (Chitrasena), holding a mace, swiftly rushed forward in battle, Pārtha (Arjuna) shattered his mace, which was entirely made of iron, into seven pieces with his arrows.
