महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-227, verse-1

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
कर्णस्य वचनं श्रुत्वा राजा दुर्योधनस्तदा ।
हृष्टो भूत्वा पुनर्दीन इदं वचनमब्रवीत् ॥१॥
1. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
karṇasya vacanaṁ śrutvā rājā duryodhanastadā ,
hṛṣṭo bhūtvā punardīna idaṁ vacanamabravīt.
1. vaiśaṃpāyanaḥ uvāca karṇasya vacanam śrutvā rājā duryodhanaḥ
tadā hṛṣṭaḥ bhūtvā punar dīnaḥ idam vacanam abravīt
1. Vaiśampāyana said: Having heard Karna's words, King Duryodhana was initially delighted, but then became dejected again and spoke these words.
