महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-67, verse-18

अस्मिन्हि बहवः साधो ये ममासन्मनोरथाः ।
ते द्रोणपुत्रेण हताः किं नु जीवामि केशव ॥१८॥
18. asminhi bahavaḥ sādho ye mamāsanmanorathāḥ ,
te droṇaputreṇa hatāḥ kiṁ nu jīvāmi keśava.
18. asmin hi bahavaḥ sādho ye mama āsan manorathāḥ
te droṇaputreṇa hatāḥ kim nu jīvāmi keśava
18. sādho hi asmin ye mama bahavaḥ manorathāḥ āsan
te droṇaputreṇa hatāḥ keśava kim nu jīvāmi
18. O virtuous one, many hopes of mine were indeed centered on this (child). Those have been destroyed by the son of Droṇa. O Keśava, why should I continue to live?
