महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-7, verse-16

प्रायोपवेशनाद्राज्यं सर्वत्र सुखमुच्यते ।
स्वर्गं सत्येन लभते दीक्षया कुलमुत्तमम् ॥१६॥
16. prāyopaveśanādrājyaṁ sarvatra sukhamucyate ,
svargaṁ satyena labhate dīkṣayā kulamuttamam.

16. Through fasting unto death, one gains sovereignty. Happiness is declared to be found everywhere. One obtains heaven (svarga) through truthfulness, and an excellent lineage through ritual initiation (dīkṣā).
