इदमाश्चर्यमासीच्च मध्ये तेषां महात्मनाम् ।
यद्यन्मुञ्चति गात्राणां स शंतनुसुतस्तदा ।
तत्तद्विशल्यं भवति योगयुक्तस्य तस्य वै ॥३॥

3. idamāścaryamāsīcca madhye teṣāṁ mahātmanām ,
yadyanmuñcati gātrāṇāṁ sa śaṁtanusutastadā ,
tattadviśalyaṁ bhavati yogayuktasya tasya vai.

And this marvel occurred in the midst of those great souls (mahātman): whatever the son of Shantanu (Bhishma), who was engrossed in (yoga), released from his limbs, that part indeed became free of arrows.
