महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-70, verse-28

ततो वसति दुष्कर्मा नरके शाश्वतीः समाः ।
प्रजानां कल्मषे मग्नोऽकीर्तिं पापं च विन्दति ॥२८॥
28. tato vasati duṣkarmā narake śāśvatīḥ samāḥ ,
prajānāṁ kalmaṣe magno'kīrtiṁ pāpaṁ ca vindati.

28. Thereafter, the evildoer (karma) dwells in hell for eternal years. Plunged into the defilement of the subjects, he incurs disgrace and evil.
