इमामुर्वीं न जयेद्विक्रमेण देवश्रेष्ठोऽसौ पुरा चेदमेयः ।

If that immeasurable best of gods had not conquered this earth with his prowess in ancient times, then the system of four social classes and all the constitutional principles (dharma) of the four stages of life (āśrama) would not exist, due to the destruction of Brahmā himself.
