A person who has committed feticide (bhrūṇahan) is completely absolved (vipramucyate) by releasing (unmocya) living beings of the same species (tajjātīyān), equal in number to those one might naturally kill (yāvataḥ prāṇinaḥ hanyāt svabhāvataḥ), when those beings are on the verge of death (pramīyamāṇān).
