महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-17, verse-17

स भक्ष्यमाणस्त्राणार्थी पितामहमुपाद्रवत् ।
आभ्यो मां भगवान्पातु वृत्तिरासां विधीयताम् ॥१७॥
17. sa bhakṣyamāṇastrāṇārthī pitāmahamupādravat ,
ābhyo māṁ bhagavānpātu vṛttirāsāṁ vidhīyatām.

17. Being devoured, he, seeking protection, rushed to the Grandfather (Brahmā). (He pleaded): "May you, revered lord, protect me from these! Let a means of subsistence be provided for them!"
