महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-32, verse-11

तं च द्विषन्ति तेऽत्यर्थं स चापि सुमहाबलः ।
वरप्रदानात्स पितुः कश्यपस्य महात्मनः ॥११॥
11. taṁ ca dviṣanti te'tyarthaṁ sa cāpi sumahābalaḥ ,
varapradānātsa pituḥ kaśyapasya mahātmanaḥ.
11. tam ca dviṣanti te atyartham saḥ ca api sumahābalaḥ
varapradānāt saḥ pituḥ kaśyapasya mahātmanaḥ
11. And they hate him (Garuda) exceedingly. And he (Garuda) is also extremely powerful due to the boon granted by his great-souled father, Kaśyapa.
