महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-169, verse-4

अमन्यत स धर्मात्मा वसिष्ठं पितरं तदा ।
जन्मप्रभृति तस्मिंश्च पितरीव व्यवर्तत ॥४॥
4. amanyata sa dharmātmā vasiṣṭhaṁ pitaraṁ tadā ,
janmaprabhṛti tasmiṁśca pitarīva vyavartata.
4. amanyata saḥ dharmātmā vasiṣṭham pitaram tadā
janmaprabhṛti tasmin ca pitari iva vyavartata
4. That righteous soul (dharma-ātman) Parāśara then considered Vasiṣṭha his father. And from birth onwards, he behaved towards him just like a father.
