महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-169, verse-18

अवमन्य ततः कोपाद्भृगूंस्ताञ्शरणागतान् ।
निजघ्नुस्ते महेष्वासाः सर्वांस्तान्निशितैः शरैः ।
आ गर्भादनुकृन्तन्तश्चेरुश्चैव वसुंधराम् ॥१८॥
18. avamanya tataḥ kopādbhṛgūṁstāñśaraṇāgatān ,
nijaghnuste maheṣvāsāḥ sarvāṁstānniśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ,
ā garbhādanukṛntantaśceruścaiva vasuṁdharām.
18. avamanya tataḥ kopāt bhṛgūn tān
śaraṇāgatān nijaghnuḥ te maheṣvāsāḥ
sarvān tān niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ā garbhāt
anukṛntantaḥ ceruḥ ca eva vasundharām
18. Then, those great archers, out of anger, insulted those Bhṛgus who had sought refuge and killed all of them with sharp arrows. They also roamed the earth, slaying them even from the womb.
