वारयामास तेजस्वी हुंकरेणैव भारत ॥३॥

3. gandharva uvāca ,
tamāpatantaṁ saṁprekṣya vasiṣṭho bhagavānṛṣiḥ ,
vārayāmāsa tejasvī huṁkareṇaiva bhārata.

The Gandharva said: "O descendant of Bharata (bhārata), the revered sage (ṛṣi) Vasiṣṭha, full of spiritual power, seeing him approaching, restrained him simply with a scornful roar (huṃkāra)."
