योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-6, chapter-8, verse-6

अज्ञानाद्वृद्धिमायाति तदेव स्यात्फलं स्फुटम् ।
ज्ञानेनायाति संवित्तिस्तामेवान्ते प्रयच्छति ॥ ६ ॥
ajñānādvṛddhimāyāti tadeva syātphalaṃ sphuṭam ,
jñānenāyāti saṃvittistāmevānte prayacchati 6
6. ajñānāt vṛddhim āyāti tat eva syāt phalam sphuṭam |
jñānena āyāti saṃvittiḥ tām eva ante prayacchati ||
6. ajñānāt vṛddhim āyāti,
tat eva sphuṭam phalam syāt.
jñānena saṃvittiḥ āyāti,
tām eva ante prayacchati.
6. From ignorance (ajñāna), expansion or increase arises, and that indeed is the clear result. By means of knowledge (jñāna), complete understanding (saṃvitti) is attained, and it is that (understanding) alone that is ultimately bestowed.
