For the one (yaḥ) who, remaining in a state of deep sleep (suṣuptastha) even while awake (jāgrati eva), performs the actions of the world, the perception of pleasure and pain (sukhaduḥkhadṛk) does not approach him, just as it does not affect a mere puppet.
