सा तामवेक्षते क्षारात्तापादङ्गे निमज्जति ।
संकटे विस्मरत्येव जनो गौरवसत्क्रियाम् ॥ २५ ॥

25. The [shadow-needle] observes it (the object casting it). From the intense heat, it (the shadow) merges into the object's body. Indeed, in a crisis, people forget reverence and proper conduct.
