किमङ्गदं साङ्गद वीर बाहो विहाय यास्यद्य चिरप्रवासं ।
न युक्तमेवं गुणसंनिकृष्टं विहाय पुत्रं प्रियपुत्र गन्तुम् ॥२२॥
22. kimaṅgadaṃ sāṅgada vīra bāho vihāya yāsyadya cirapravāsaṃ ,
na yuktamevaṃ guṇasaṃnikṛṣṭaṃ vihāya putraṃ priyaputra gantum.
22. kim aṅgadaṃ sāṅgada vīra bāho
vihāya yāsi adya cirapravāsaṃ
na yuktam evaṃ guṇasaṃnikṛṣṭaṃ

22. sāṅgada vīra bāho,
kim adya aṅgadaṃ vihāya cirapravāsaṃ yāsi? priyaputra,

22. O hero with armlets, O mighty-armed one, how can you leave Angada and depart today for a long absence? It is not right, O father of a dear son, to abandon a son so endowed with virtues and leave in this manner.
