इत्येवं लक्ष्मणे वाक्यं स्नेहाद्ब्रुवति धार्मिके ।
परिवादं जनन्यास्तमसहन् राघवो ऽब्रवीत् ॥३४॥

34. ityevaṃ lakṣmaṇe vākyaṃ snehādbruvati dhārmike ,
parivādaṃ jananyāstamasahan rāghavo'bravīt.

34. While the righteous Lakshmana (Lakṣmaṇa) was thus speaking words born of affection, Rama (Rāghava), unable to bear that censure against his mother, spoke.
