वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-97, verse-18

यावत् पितरि धर्मज्ञ गौरवं लोकसत्कृते ।
तावद्धर्मभृतां श्रेष्ठ जनन्यामपि गौरवम् ॥१८॥
18. yāvat pitari dharmajña gauravaṃ lokasatkṛte ,
tāvaddharmabhṛtāṃ śreṣṭha jananyāmapi gauravam.

18. O knower of righteousness (dharma), just as there is reverence for the father, who is honored by the world, similarly, O best among those who uphold righteousness (dharma), there is also reverence for the mother.
