वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-52, verse-19

यदि प्रव्राजितो रामो लोभकारणकारितम् ।
वरदाननिमित्तं वा सर्वथा दुष्कृतं कृतम् ।
रामस्य तु परित्यागे न हेतुमुपलक्षये ॥१९॥
19. yadi pravrājito rāmo lobhakāraṇakāritam ,
varadānanimittaṃ vā sarvathā duṣkṛtaṃ kṛtam ,
rāmasya tu parityāge na hetumupalakṣaye.

lobhakāraṇakāritam varadānanimittam vā

19. If Rama has been exiled, whether caused by greed or on account of a boon, it is in every way an evil deed that has been done. But regarding Rama's abandonment, I do not perceive any (valid) reason.
