मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-5, verse-9

सख्यञ्चक्रुस्ततस्तस्य वृत्रेण समयांस्तथा ।
ऋषयः प्रीतमनसः सर्वभूतहिते रताः ॥९॥
9. sakhyañcakrustatastasya vṛtreṇa samayāṃstathā .
ṛṣayaḥ prītamanasaḥ sarvabhūtahite ratāḥ.
9. sakhyam cakruḥ tataḥ tasya vṛtreṇa samayān
tathā ṛṣayaḥ prītamanasaḥ sarvabhūtahite ratāḥ
9. Thereupon, the sages, who were pleased in their minds and devoted to the welfare of all beings, established a friendship and agreements with Vṛtra.
