मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-5, verse-10

समयस्थितिमुल्लङ्घ्य यदा शक्रेण घातितः ।
वृत्रो हत्याभिभूतस्य तदा बलमशीर्यत ॥१०॥
10. samayasthitimullaṅghya yadā śakreṇa ghātitaḥ .
vṛtro hatyābhibhūtasya tadā balamaśīryata.
10. samayasthitim ullaṅghya yadā śakreṇa ghātitaḥ
vṛtraḥ hatyābhibhūtasya tadā balam aśīryata
10. When Vṛtra was killed by Indra, who had transgressed the terms of the agreement, then the power of Indra, who was overcome by the sin of killing, withered away.
