कृपाऽभूज्जनिता मूर्च्छा तथा तस्य महात्मनः ॥१२॥

12. tataḥ śyenamukhabhraṣṭāṃ dṛṣṭvaikāṃ śārikāṃ bhuvi .
kṛpā'bhūjjanitā mūrcchā tathā tasya mahātmanaḥ.

Then, upon seeing a single mynah bird (śārikā) fallen to the ground from the mouth of a hawk, compassion (kṛpā) arose, and unconsciousness (mūrcchā) thus overcame that great soul (mahātman).
