मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-109, verse-11

एवं शप्तो नृपः क्रुद्धस्तच्छापपरिपीडितः ।
प्रतिशापपरो विप्र तोयं जग्राह पाणिना ॥११॥
11. evaṃ śapto nṛpaḥ kruddhastacchāpaparipīḍitaḥ .
pratiśāpaparo vipra toyaṃ jagrāha pāṇinā.
11. evam śaptaḥ nṛpaḥ kruddhaḥ tatśāpaparipīḍitaḥ
pratiśāpaparaḥ vipra toyam jagrāha pāṇinā
11. O Brahmin, thus cursed, the king, enraged and greatly afflicted by that curse, became intent on delivering a counter-curse and took water in his hand.
