महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-13, verse-17

स तोमरैरर्ककरप्रभैस्त्रिभिर्जनार्दनं पञ्चभिरेव चार्जुनम् ।
समर्पयित्वा विननाद चार्दयंस्ततोऽस्य बाहू विचकर्त पाण्डवः ॥१७॥
17. sa tomarairarkakaraprabhaistribhi;rjanārdanaṁ pañcabhireva cārjunam ,
samarpayitvā vinanāda cārdayaṁ;stato'sya bāhū vicakarta pāṇḍavaḥ.

janārdanam pañcabhiḥ eva ca arjunam
samarpayitvā vinanāda ca ārdayan

17. saḥ arkakaraprabhaiḥ tribhiḥ tomaraiḥ janārdanam ca pañcabhiḥ eva arjunam samarpayitvā,

17. Having struck Janardana (Krishna) with three javelins (tomaras) as brilliant as sunbeams, and Arjuna with five such javelins, he roared, afflicting them. Then, the Pāṇḍava (Arjuna) cut off his two arms.
