महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-72, verse-21

ईदृशो हि बलौघस्तु युक्तः शस्त्रास्त्रसंपदा ।
वध्यते यत्र संग्रामे किमन्यद्भागधेयतः ॥२१॥
21. īdṛśo hi balaughastu yuktaḥ śastrāstrasaṁpadā ,
vadhyate yatra saṁgrāme kimanyadbhāgadheyataḥ.

vadhyate yatra saṃgrāme kim anyat bhāgadheyataḥ

21. Indeed, when such an army, fully equipped with a wealth of weapons and missiles, is nevertheless defeated in battle, what else can it be but a matter of destiny?
