एवमेतद्यथात्थ त्वं तपोव्ययकरं तु मे ।
यथा तु मे न नश्येत तपस्तन्मां प्रचोदय ॥२१॥

evametadyathāttha tvaṁ tapovyayakaraṁ tu me ,
yathā tu me na naśyeta tapastanmāṁ pracodaya.

Agastya said: "What you say is true, but such an act would lead to the depletion of my asceticism (tapas). Therefore, please instruct me so that my asceticism (tapas) may not be diminished."
