महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-95, verse-11

गङ्गाद्वारमथागम्य भगवानृषिसत्तमः ।
उग्रमातिष्ठत तपः सह पत्न्यानुकूलया ॥११॥
11. gaṅgādvāramathāgamya bhagavānṛṣisattamaḥ ,
ugramātiṣṭhata tapaḥ saha patnyānukūlayā.

11. Then, having arrived at Gangadvāra, the revered, excellent sage began to perform severe asceticism (tapas) along with his agreeable wife.
