महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-90, verse-21

स चेद्यथोचितां वृत्तिं न दद्यान्मनुजेश्वरः ।
अस्मत्प्रियहितार्थाय पाञ्चाल्यो वः प्रदास्यति ॥२१॥
21. sa cedyathocitāṁ vṛttiṁ na dadyānmanujeśvaraḥ ,
asmatpriyahitārthāya pāñcālyo vaḥ pradāsyati.
21. sa cet yathāucitām vṛttim na dadyāt manujeśvaraḥ
asmatpriyahitārthāya pāñcālyas vaḥ pradāsyati
21. If that lord of men (manujeśvara) does not provide the proper maintenance (vṛtti), then Pañcālya will provide for you, for our well-being and benefit.
