महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-41, verse-25

ततः प्रभुस्त्रिदिवनिवासिनां वशी महामतिर्गिरिश उमापतिः शिवः ।
धनुर्महद्दितिजपिशाचसूदनं ददौ भवः पुरुषवराय गाण्डिवम् ॥२५॥
25. tataḥ prabhustridivanivāsināṁ vaśī; mahāmatirgiriśa umāpatiḥ śivaḥ ,
dhanurmahadditijapiśācasūdanaṁ; dadau bhavaḥ puruṣavarāya gāṇḍivam.
25. tataḥ prabhuḥ tridivanivāsinām vaśī
mahāmatiḥ giriśaḥ umāpatiḥ śivaḥ
dhanuḥ mahat ditijapiśācasūdanam
dadau bhavaḥ puruṣavarāya gāṇḍivam
25. Then, the lord (Bhava), who controls the dwellers of the three heavens, the great-minded Giriśa, husband of Uma (Umāpati), Śiva himself, bestowed the great bow Gāṇḍīva, which destroys daitiyas and piśācas, upon the best of men.
