महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-289, verse-18

अकामो वा सकामो वा न स नैष्यति ते वशम् ।
विबुधो मन्त्रसंशान्तो वाक्ये भृत्य इवानतः ॥१८॥
18. akāmo vā sakāmo vā na sa naiṣyati te vaśam ,
vibudho mantrasaṁśānto vākye bhṛtya ivānataḥ.
18. akāmaḥ vā sakāmaḥ vā na saḥ naiṣyati te vaśam
vibudhaḥ mantrasaṃśāntaḥ vākye bhṛtyaḥ iva ānataḥ
18. Whether willing or unwilling, he will certainly come under your control, just as a wise person, appeased by sacred formulas (mantras), yields to a command like a servant.
