महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-193, verse-18

शेते लोकविनाशाय तप आस्थाय दारुणम् ।
त्रिदशानां विनाशाय लोकानां चापि पार्थिव ॥१८॥
18. śete lokavināśāya tapa āsthāya dāruṇam ,
tridaśānāṁ vināśāya lokānāṁ cāpi pārthiva.

18. He lies, having undertaken a terrible austerity (tapas), for the destruction of the worlds. Indeed, O King, it is also for the destruction of the gods and other beings.
