तार्क्ष्य उवाच ।
किमग्निहोत्रस्य व्रतं पुराणमाचक्ष्व मे पृच्छतश्चारुरूपे ।
त्वयानुशिष्टोऽहमिहाद्य विद्यां यदग्निहोत्रस्य व्रतं पुराणम् ॥१२॥

kimagnihotrasya vrataṁ purāṇa;mācakṣva me pṛcchataścārurūpe ,
tvayānuśiṣṭo'hamihādya vidyāṁ; yadagnihotrasya vrataṁ purāṇam.

purāṇam ācakṣva me pṛcchataḥ cārurūpe
tvayā anuśiṣṭaḥ aham iha adya
vidyām yat agnihotrasya vratam purāṇam

12. Tarkṣya said, "O beautiful one, please explain to me, who is asking, what the ancient vow (vrata) of the agnihotra is. Instructed by you, I will now understand here this ancient vow (vrata) of the agnihotra."
