तार्क्ष्य उवाच ।
किमग्निहोत्रस्य व्रतं पुराणमाचक्ष्व मे पृच्छतश्चारुरूपे ।
त्वयानुशिष्टोऽहमिहाद्य विद्यां यदग्निहोत्रस्य व्रतं पुराणम् ॥१२॥

12. tārkṣya uvāca ,
kimagnihotrasya vrataṁ purāṇa;mācakṣva me pṛcchataścārurūpe ,
tvayānuśiṣṭo'hamihādya vidyāṁ; yadagnihotrasya vrataṁ purāṇam.

Tarkṣya said, "O beautiful one, please explain to me, who is asking, what the ancient vow (vrata) of the agnihotra is. Instructed by you, I will now understand here this ancient vow (vrata) of the agnihotra."
