असमर्थं परित्राणे पोषणे च शुचिस्मिते ।
साधु च्यवनमुत्सृज्य वरयस्वैकमावयोः ।
पत्यर्थं देवगर्भाभे मा वृथा यौवनं कृथाः ॥९॥

9.
O lady with a pure smile, he is incapable of providing protection or sustenance. Therefore, O goddess-like one, it is proper that you abandon Chyavana and choose one of us two as your husband. Do not waste your youth (yauvanam) in vain.
